Location: 12-minute walk to the Wheaton Metro red line, just north of the DC Beltway (I-495). Complimentary rides to NIH, but a 14-20 minute RideOn Route 34 also works.
The neighborhood is safer than Bethesda. It's 12.44/1.73=7.2 times safer then DC proper. The ethnicity is 73%W, 5%B, 13%H, 5%A, 4%O vs. 44%W, 49%B,H, 3%A, 1%O. Life expectancy here is in the top 99.97%=3141/3142 while DC was in the bottom ~16%.
It's also quieter here because most other metro stops are above ground.
Rent: $650/month plus a monthly miscellaneous fee whichincludes utilities, weekly cleaning and restocking of bathrooms and all common areas, dirty dishes being sterilized and put back each day, newspaper, coffee, spices, other chores, etc. No lease or deposit. This prevents the situation where you get stuck with a rommate who was only nice before you signed on the dotted line. There is a one-time $100 room-cleaning fee which serves a similar purpose (preventing short stays).
Room details: The room has a keyed lock, bed, desk, dresser, chair, and closet with an iron and ironing board. There's wireless, but there’s also a wired connection because wireless isn't as secure and can't make full use of our fiber optic connection. The temperature is adjustable to your liking, with strong, floor-specific central air conditioning (AC) and heat. Everything not new in the room will be washed, including the pillows, and the mattress will be fully aired out.
Outside the room is a 65" TV. We currently subscribe to HBO+, The Movie Channel, Showtime, Epix, STARZ, Sundance, FLIX, NFL RedZone, Cinemax, IFC, EPIX, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon as well as hundreds of other channels in HD via our fiber optic link. The setup is reasonably elegant; the example images show how to watch a movie, whenever you want, on the premium The Movie Channel network.
By the way, in case you didn't know, Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu spend ~$14 Billion a year making movies and shows, so, just to stay current, you might want access to these new studios. Though they might be a threat to the old-school Hollywood establishment studios, those are also accessible via the brand new AMC Wheaton 9 movie theater that is a short 5-minute walk away.
Bathrooms: There is no bathroom inside the room, but there is one just outside it. There is another "backup" full bathroom, so you would always have access to a bathroom.
House details: This is a large house with a working fireplace, weight room, rec room with 65" HDTV with the on-demand movie libraries listed above. The kitchen has most of the gadgets you blissfully but mistakenly thought you'd use. There's a deck, outdoor grill, hammock, and flower garden. We’re getting a greenhouse soon.
Existing housemates: all professionals on the brainy side. (Most of us have PhDs, two in physics.) House atmospher is a cross between Friends and Big Bank Theory. We have a game night and do stuff together when there's time. We work together so there's less duplication and wasted trips, so you'd have access to free grocery pickup, bikes, spare laptops, GPSes, a printer, tools, laundry detergent, filtered water, clean and humidified air (no more bloody noses during winter; MPR 2800 air filters means bbye to allergies and alleged brain damage), tea, and coffee.
Availability date: See sidebar, but anytime after that date also may work. If interested, email or dial 3OI+933+3953. If you try texting this it will not get transmitted. You can also email at annmay5 at verizon dot net (place the dot and at with . and @). The email exchange system here probably won't work. All inquiries will still be answered or responded to within 12 hours, so if there is no response within 12 hours, try again, as we definitely did not get your message or you didn't get our response. (This is true even if it isn't a good match.)

See above but usually rides are avail. to NIH via car or to Grosvenor–Strathmore metro stop (1 north of nih).

Pets: No pets allowed.
